roma

Rome, the eternal city and the gateway to Italy, is deep in history with visible traces that lay at your feet as you gaze at its wonders. Architecturally, the city is a perfect mélange of up kept styles, contemporary design, revival and slowly decaying beauties. Its urban form will immediately submerse you in the chaos that is known as Rome, yet will shelter you from the daily grind. The city can be seen from its piazzas but it is lived within the streets. The following series is but a glance, from my eye to yours, on a city that sets up the theatrical story that is Italy.

Once a meadow of the medieval ages, Campo de'Fiori is now a lively corner of Rome that is home to a morning open market. It's name translates to 'field of flowers' which references its medieval form. It also has a dark past as its was a spot for public executions, which took the form of burnings. Two notable individuals to have faced the flames for their social science research were Giordano Bruno and Marco Antonio de Domini.
